Santa Barbara

For my birthday weekend my cousin Christi took me on an adventure to Santa Barbara. Of course, we ended up leaving an hour late, and the two hour drive was longer than expected, but we finally reached our destination: State Street. There are SO MANY places to choose from to eat, but we eventually picked a small restaurant called California Pasta.
We stopped in my favorite store of all time, Plum Goods
I was tempted to buy a matchbox with every design.
By far the best purchase I have ever made - A calendar with fun coasters. It only cost me $8. How could I resist? Its just way too cute.
Christi and I worked off our pasta, Ben & Jerry's ice creams, and lattes by walking to another craft store, where I was amazed by all of the stamps. This is the place to go if you are in need of scrap-booking paper, envelopes, stamps, pens, wrapping paper...
I was debating between an octopus stamp, an acorn stamp, and a fox stamp... I couldn't make a decision. But the nice lady did teach me how to emboss a stamp!

All in all, my birthday trip to Santa Barbara was quite a success. Now off to write my essay...

Saturdays

After a long week of essay writing and test taking, Saturdays are the days for adventuring, yummy food, and friends. So far this year, we have had quite a few memorable Saturdays:
Breakfast prepared by both of us, all the ingredients bought from the local farmers market that morning!

 beach day in Morro Bay

This Saturday, our friend Hannah had the lovely idea of heading to Cal Poly for U-Pick! After some sketchy directions involving a dirt road and "a guy in a poncho", we found a beautiful orchard.

Our day continued with a stop at my mom's amazing vintage store, Ruby Rose as well as a lovely local paper store, Paper Sky.

And, as usual, our day ended with a cup of coffee.
hazelnut latte from the ever lovely Sally Loos

Valentine's Day

All about February 14th

On our trip to Portland last weekend, we posed for some pretty adorable Polaroids for only a dollar a piece (as seen on our About Us page) at a local vintage shop.

Later that day, we learned of a lovely event at one of our favorite local cafes, Sally Loos, and marked our calendars to stop by later that week!

The night before Valentine's, I was struck with inspiration to paint some cards for my closest friends, because why should the exchanging of cute cards end in elementary school? Abandoning my anatomy flashcards, I used my remaining index cards to share the love.

The 14th arrived and as soon as the school day was over, Eva and I headed to Sally's. We each purchased handmade arrangements in vintage glass bottles for our moms. Keeping with the holiday spirit, we bought a raspberry vanilla bean cupcake with pink lemon frosting and raspberry Italian soda. We ran into our favorite five year old and enjoyed a game of I Spy.

We hope your day was filled with joy and love, happy belated Valentine's Day from us both!
